How We Work
Board of Directors
The MITRAA Board comprises of eminent professionals having rich and varied experience with an extensive domain knowledge in their respective fields. A brief profile of the members of the Board is reproduced below:
Mr Rao is a retired Indian Revenue Service officer. He holds a LLB degree from Kolhapur University apart from being a qualified Cost Accountant. Mr Rao has a rich experience of over four and a half decades during which he has held Secretary level posts in various Ministries of the Government of India. He was also Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes as well as Chairman, Income-tax Settlement Commission. He was also Chairman of the committee appointed by the Government of India to review the regulatory provisions of Nidhi companies. Mr Rao carries with him a very rich experience in Tax Advisory services.
Mr.Krishnamurti graduated from the University of Jabalpur and is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has also completed the Management Education Programme from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Mr.Krishnamurti has experience of more than three and a half decades in Tata Steel and other private sector companies having worked as the Finance Head in the Steel, Heavy Engineering, Bearings, Cement, Mining, FMCG & Garment accessories sectors. His area of expertise includes cost and management audits, strategic business planning, corporate restructuring, business performance analysis, project financing including feasibility studies and designing and implementing enterprise wide solutions.
M. P. Bhaskaran
Mr.Bhaskaran was in the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) and has working experience in excess of three decades having held senior level positions in the Income Tax department before retiring as Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax. He has got rich expertise in the areas of administration, judicial, audit, training and investigation. While in service he has authored several books on Income tax and other topics.
Mr. Chandrasekharan graduated from Madras Law College and practiced in the Madras High Court. He is a Fellow member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India and was also its Central Council Member. He has wide ranging experience in excess of three decades having held senior management positions in heavy engineering, hospitality and other allied industries as well as a management consultant for housing development companies and advising on “Concept to Completion” marketing. He has also successfully handled large public issues as Category 1 Merchant Banker apart from advising companies on Corporate Restructuring and Turnaround strategies.
Mr. Sudhir Chandra did his Post Graduation in Political Science from the University of Allahabad. He also completed his M.Sc. In Fiscal Studies from the University of Bath, U.K. on a British Council Fellowship. At the Second Asia Pacific Conference on International Accounting Issues held at Vancouver, Canada, he presented a paper on Income Tax. Mr. Sudhir Chandra has a rich and varied experience of more than three and a half decades holding senior level position in various departments in the Government of India before retiring from the Indian Revenue Service.
Mr. Tripathi is a Post Graduate in Science from the University of Pune and holds a Master’s degree in International Taxation and Public Administration from Harvard University, Cambridge, USA. He was in the Indian Revenue Service, Government of India, for over two decades holding several senior positions in the Government. He is also an Advisor to a number of companies in the private sector. Mr. Tripathi has rich experience in the field of Tax Advisory – Direct and Indirect Tax, Family Business Services, Corporate Governance, Succession Planning and Wealth Management.

Mitraa foundation functions like the Bhagavad gita through its trust for providing the needy students to build their career in order to prepare for the combat in life, it helps the society through inculcating wisdom with the help of Satsang project.
Mitraa foundation is a charitable trust promoted by a set of professionals and eminent citizens of Chennai. The foundation plans to nurture young talent in the field of economics, commerce, management and law and enable them to get over all obstacles, be it financial or personal. Further the trust supports all research and development in the field of economics, commerce, management and law. The foundation has taken an oath to preserve the cultural heritage, music, arts and theatre through various programs. It has a special focus to support the medically challenged people and living beings, farmers and agricultural reforms. Mitraa in its unique way helps the needy in various formats.
The Mitraa Foundation - for the Benefit of Students
Mitraa provides programs to support students pursuing careers in the field of commerce, economics, management and law. In a way to help the needy our foundation provides financial support by funding for institutional fees and accommodations. Various other benefits to enhance the career opportunities are provided to students, namely counselling sessions, career mapping etc. Self development programs like encouraging entrepreneurial skills, developing language skills, writing and oratory skills and exposure to a finishing school is also provided.
Mitraa not only confines with the aforesaid services but it makes sure to mentor the students throughout the program and helps in developing an individual’s goal in life. Altogether Mitraa is a foundation brick to each and every needy student.
Research and Development
The Mitraa foundation through providing support to research and development in the field of economics, commerce, management and law stresses its need for the development of our society. Our foundation provides infrastructure support services for R&D, services of a secretariat, helps students to print and publish research material and facilitates presentation of papers. It also offers a minimal stipend and has proposed to maintain a library solely for the purpose of research candidates.
Apart from all the services mentioned, it also acts as a catalyst between the government, industry, educational institutions and undertakes research programs on behalf of them.
Promotion & Preservation of Music, Arts, Theatre, Culture and Heritage
The evergreen field of music, arts, theatre, culture and heritage of India needs constant preservation and promotion to avoid extinction. Mitraa foundation in a way has taken a great step forward to make the young and budding talents to realise their dream. For which purpose our foundation will be conducting concerts, exhibitions and shows to bring out the talents present in various fields of arts, thereby gaining appreciation from the public.
